Abstract

A good sleep quality and physical activity can increase the concentration and memory of learning in someone, thus contribute to cognitive learning outcomes obtained by students. The purpose of this study was to measure the relationship between sleep quality–physical activity and cognitive learning outcome on Human Coordination System subject. This study was conducted at SMAN 21 Jakarta in March 2018. The study method used the descriptive quantitative method with cross sectional approach. The samples were taken by simple random sampling as many as 125 students of 11th grade students of Science Class. The used instruments were the cognitive learning outcomes test, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Physical Activity Qustionnaire Adolescents (PAQ-A). The results of correlation coefficient calculation between sleep quality and cognitive learning outcomes showed a significant positive relationship. While the correlation between physical activity and cognitive learning outcomes showed a significant negative relationship. In this study, the contribution of sleep quality and physical activity was 18.6% in determining students' cognitive learning outcomes.
