Abstract


Decentralization is a management philosophy that attempts to make each division of a business as autonomous as practical. The primary responsibility and the necessary authority to plan and control division operations are delegated to division management. Central management provides only general operating guidelines and profit goals for each division. The creation of decentralized, semiautonomous divisions within a company leads to the need for measuring and evaluating divisional performance.This research will investigate relationship between decentralization and its interaction with build-in control to management performance in government institution as Palembang city. Using questioners design to get data from respondent. Research result show that decentralization and its interaction with build-in control simultaneous have significant and positively influence to the government performance. It means when a decision process delegate to lower management will increase the institution performance.
