LITERATURE REVIEW: EFEK SAMPING PENGGUNAAN ISOTRETINOIN PADA TERAPI ACNE VULGARIS

Abstract


Acne vulgaris adalah penyakit kulit dengan prevalensi global sebesar 9.38%. Salah satu terapi acne derajat sedang-berat adalah dengan isotretinoin. Namun, pemberian isotretinoin dapat memberikan berbagai efek samping multi organ. Angka kejadian isotretinoin sulit dilaporkan dalam satuan pasien karena sebagian pasien melaporkan lebih dari satu efek samping. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek samping apa saja yang muncul dari pemberian isotretinoin pada pasien acne vulgaris. Desain penelitian ini adalah tinjauan pustaka dengan mengumpulkan artikel penelitian melalui database PubMed, Science Direct, dan Google Scholar. Didapatkan sebanyak 1.988 artikel penelitian mengenai akne, namun hanya sebanyak 20 artikel yang sesuai kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Efek samping yang muncul dari pemberian isotretinoin pada pasien acne vulgaris antara lain efek teratogen, Drug-induced Vasculitis (DV), gangguan psikologis, gangguan mata, efek samping mukokutaneus (iritasi kulit, xerosis, selaput lendir kering, dan cheilitis), bibir kering pecah-pecah, hidung kering tersumbat hingga epistaksis, peningkatan enzim hepar, peningkatan profil lipid, peningkatann homosistein, dan stres oksidatif.
