Description of the Severity Level of Dry Eye Syndrome Among Online Motorcycle Taxi Drivers in Makassar

Abstract


Sindrom mata kering (Dry Eye Syndrome) semakin menjadi perhatian kesehatan di kalangan pengemudi ojek online, khususnya di Makassar, yang memiliki durasi kerja panjang dan paparan konstan terhadap perangkat digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi prevalensi sindrom mata kering pada pengemudi ojek online di Makassar, dengan menggunakan kuesioner Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) untuk menilai kondisi kesehatan mata. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner OSDI Sebagian besar pengemudi ojek online mengalami sindrom mata kering dalam kategori mild (ringan), sebanyak 41 orang (45,6%), diikuti oleh 38 orang (42,2%) yang berada dalam kategori moderate (sedang). Sedangkan 11 orang (12,2%) mengalami sindrom mata kering dengan kondisi severe (berat), dan tidak ada responden yang memiliki skor normal. Penelitian ini menyarankan intervensi kesehatan yang melibatkan pemeriksaan mata rutin, edukasi penggunaan pelindung mata, serta peningkatan lingkungan kerja yang lebih mendukung.
