MANIFESTASI OKULAR PADA COVID-19

Abstract


Pada awal tahun 2020 dunia dibuat gempar oleh wabah pneumonia dari Wuhan yang disebabkan oleh virus Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV2) atau disebut COVID-19, dan dengan cepat menjadi pandemik di seluruh dunia. COVID-19 ditransmisikan melalui membran mukosa dan menginvasi sel penjamu melalui sel reseptor Angiotensin Converting Enzyme-2 (ACE-2) yang juga terdapat di konjungtiva, kornea dan cairan akuos. Meski manifestasi okular bukan merupakan gejala utama dari COVID-19 namun World Health Organization (WHO) melaporkan pasien COVID-19 dengan kongesti konjungtiva. Beberapa jurnal juga melaporkan manifestasi okular, seperti konjungtivitis pada pasien COVID-19 dengan atau tanpa nilai positif pada pemeriksaan polymerase chain reaction (PCR) spesimen mata.
