The urgency of legalizing the establishment of Islamic boarding school educational institutions according to the laws and regulations in Indonesia

The purpose of this article is to elucidate the significance of the legality of establishing Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. Research is conducted by identifying research objectives, analyzing research methodologies employed, and presenting pertinent research findings. The purpose of this study is to gain a greater understanding of the positive effects of Islamic boarding school legality and the obstacles involved in obtaining this legality. Literature review and analysis of laws and regulations pertaining to the establishment of Islamic boarding institutions constitute the research methodology. The findings of the study indicate that the legality of establishing Islamic residential schools provides official legitimacy, legal protection, operational certainty, funding access, and government recognition. However, obtaining legal establishment is difficult due to its complex requirements, required costs and resources, and ever-changing policies and regulations.
